My family and I lived on an estate just outside the village of Easenhall, Warwickshire for several years. In 2013, I was asked to run a community crafts project for the village and came up with the idea of an embroidered village quilt. Every home in the village was asked to design a 6” square panel, which was then embroidered by a small team of villagers and then this sewn together. I also ran a workshop day for the children of the village and their work was digitally printed on to quilting cotton and included in the quilt. It was quilted at the Bramble Patch in Weedon, Northamptonshire before being put on display in the village hall above the piano. I believe it still hangs there today (it was there four years ago when I was last in the area).
